Which football jersey size should you choose? The method that avoids mistakes

It's the first question we get asked, and the only one that makes people hesitate when ordering. A jersey that's too tight is immediately obvious; one that's too big hangs loose and loses its shape. Here is how to make sure you get it right.

Forget your t-shirt size

A football jersey is not sized like street clothes. Two models of the same size can fit differently depending on the cut and the brand that designed it. Going with "the size you usually wear" is the impulse that leads to disappointment most often.

The most reliable method: measure a jersey you already own

It's the only one that never fails, because it compares concrete to concrete. Take a jersey you like to wear, lay it out flat, zipped/buttoned up, without stretching it, and take two measurements:

• Shoulder width — from one shoulder seam to the other, in a straight line.
• Length — from the highest point of the shoulder to the bottom of the jersey.

If you don't have anything on hand

Slim or loose: it's a choice, not a mistake

Some want the jersey close to the body, like on the pitch. Others wear it in the city, over a sweatshirt, and go one size up. Both are valid. Just ask yourself before ordering: am I wearing it to play, to support at the stadium, or to wear every day?

Size exchanges are free within thirty days for non-customized items. Only one limit, and it's logical: a jersey personalized with a name or number cannot be returned, since it was made for you.
