ARGENTINA × MESSI · 2005 — 2026 · GRACIAS, 10
Some players wear a jersey. And then there are those who end up becoming part of it.
The jersey created for Lionel Messi's farewell
This is not the classic Argentina 2026 jersey. It is a standalone edition, unveiled in September 2026 for Messi's last appearance in the Albiceleste shirt. Sky blue, white, gold: the colours of a country, and a number right in the centre.
A jersey designed not to begin a new story, but to close one of the greatest.
From the first day to the last
Football stories always seem simple when they are told afterwards. The trophies, the records, the photos with the cups. Messi's story with Argentina never was.
It begins in August 2005, in Budapest. A young player comes on for his first cap. Moments later, he is sent off. An almost absurd start to a story that would last more than twenty years.
In Barcelona, everything seems to happen fast. With Argentina, it is different. Every tournament adds to the expectation. Every lost final weighs a little heavier. Messi scores, creates, carries his team, but the big title will not come. For years, it is not just a trophy that is missing. It is the trophy.
Then the 2021 Copa América changes something. For him, for the team, for a whole country. A year later, in Qatar, comes the image awaited for almost an entire career: Messi, the Argentina jersey, the World Cup in his hands. Three stars above the crest. The 2024 Copa América follows.
The story seemed complete. There was one last page left.
- 2005 — debut, in Budapest
- 2021 — Copa América
- 2022 — world champion
- 2024 — Copa América
- 2026 — farewell, at the Monumental
6 October 2026: the last match with Argentina
Buenos Aires. Estadio Monumental. This time, everyone knows. It is no longer a match like any other.
Messi steps onto the pitch one last time in the Argentina jersey, in front of a full stadium that knows it is witnessing something that will never happen again. Then the ball rolls one last time. Argentina 3, Benin 0. And as so often over twenty years, Messi scores.
The final whistle sounds like no other. No next call-up. No "see you soon". This jersey belongs to that moment. Not simply to 2026: to the last page.
Buenos Aires · Estadio Monumental · 06.10.2026
Argentina 3–0 Benin
Messi · last cap, last goal
Gracias, capitán
2005 — 2026. Gracias, 10.
The design of the Argentina Messi 2026 jersey
Sky blue. White. Then gold. A wide white band in the centre, on a sky-blue base: the Argentine flag, plain and simple.
The AFA crest is rendered in gold, with its three stars. The collar and sleeve trims combine black and gold. Everything is designed as a tribute.
Sol de Mayo, number 10 and gold details
At the heart of the visual identity: the Sol de Mayo, the sun on the Argentine flag. It is reinterpreted as a radiating graphic that runs across the jersey from front to back, and a small gold sun appears below the collar, on the back.
The gold is not there as a mere contrast colour. It refers to the title-winning years that marked the end of Messi's career with Argentina.
And the 10. In gold, in the middle of the chest. MESSI 10 in gold on the back. For Argentina, this number existed long before him; yet a whole generation grew up with this image. Here, it is not a personalisation. It is a symbol. Messi's gold "M" emblem completes the chest.
Which size should I choose?

Celeste. Blanc. Or.
Les couleurs les plus reconnaissables de l’Argentine prennent ici une autre dimension. Bleu ciel, blanc, puis l’or. Le Sol de Mayo rayonne de l’avant vers l’arrière.
