The Vélodrome of the 90s

Before giant screens, before smartphones, before social media, there were the virages. The flags, the chants, the nights when the whole city seemed to be waiting for the same thing: the match.

In Marseille, this team wasn't just followed — it was lived. The results dominated conversations in cafés, the players became familiar figures, children reenacted Papin's moves in the schoolyard. The Olympian white was everywhere: in the stadium, in the streets, in photos, in memories.

Champions of France, again
