May 10, 1962, Hampden Park, Glasgow. Cup Winners' Cup final against Fiorentina: 1-1 after extra time. The match was replayed nearly four months later, on September 5, at the Neckarstadion in Stuttgart. Atlético won 3-0. A European trophy captured in two foreign cities, a summer apart.
May 12, 2010, Volksparkstadion, Hamburg. Diego Forlán opened the scoring in the 32nd minute against Fulham and scored the decisive goal in the 116th. Two years later, on May 9, 2012, at the Arena Națională in Bucharest, Radamel Falcao scored in the seventh minute, then again in the thirty-fourth, against Athletic Bilbao. 3-0 in front of 52,347 Romanian spectators.
May 17, 2014, Camp Nou. The final day of the Spanish league; one point was enough. Trailing since the 32nd minute, the Madrilenians equalized in the 49th with a header from Diego Godín off a Gabi corner. 1-1: the title was won on the pitch of their direct competitor.
