Santiago, Sarrià, Pasadena, Yokohama

June 17, 1962, Estadio Nacional de Santiago. World Cup final against Czechoslovakia. Brazil lost its best player to injury in the second match of the tournament; 22-year-old Amarildo took his place. Zito scored in the 69th minute, Vavá in the 78th. 3-1. Garrincha left Chile as the player of the tournament.

July 5, 1982, Sarrià Stadium, Barcelona. Facing Italy, a draw was enough for Brazil to advance. Sócrates and Falcão responded twice, Paolo Rossi scored three times. 3-2, elimination. In Brazil, they still talk about the Sarrià tragedy.

July 17, 1994, Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Final against Italy. 0-0 after extra time, a first in a World Cup final. Brazil won 3-2 on penalties, Cláudio Taffarel in goal.

June 30, 2002, International Stadium Yokohama. Final against Germany. Ronaldo scored in the 67th and then the 79th minute. 2-0, on the other side of the world.

Santiago, Pasadena, Yokohama: Brazil has always known how to win elsewhere.
